Best Athletes Cup in Field Hockey: Belarus vs Russia
The Best Athletes Cup in Field Hockey opened at the stadium in Gorky Park, Minsk, on 21 July. The pro-gram of the first day concluded with a match between Belarus’ men’s national team and Russia’s U21 squad, which ended 3-2 in favor of the hosts. Also in the men’s tournament, Belarus U21 team lost to Uzbeki-stan (1-4). In the women’s tournament, Belarus’ youth team suffered a heavy defeat from Russia’s main squad (1-8) while Belarus’ national team proved stronger than Russia U21 (2-1).
