SCO, CIS review results of joint anti-terrorism drills
On 8 October, the Counter-Terrorism Forum in Minsk reviewed the results of the first stages of the SCO and CIS anti-terrorist exercises.
The SCO anti-terrorist exercises are held annually in accordance with the SCO agreement on interaction in combating terrorism. The first stage of the exercises took place from 1 to 31 July on the territories of the participating states and practiced the coordinated organizational and operational-search measures aimed at improving the effectiveness of countering terrorism. The second stage of the exercises is running in Belarus, overseen by a joint operational headquarters featuring representatives of the participating states. The exercises have become another area of practical interaction between the competent authorities of the CIS states in countering terrorism and extremism.
