Metochion of St Elisabeth Convent
The women’s metochion of St Elisabeth Convent in the village of Nelidovichi opened in 2011 on the grounds of a former military unit and has become a place for women who find themselves in difficult life circumstances. Today, more than 50 women of various ages and backgrounds live at the metochion. Separate family houses have been set up for mothers who live here with their children. The grounds of the metochion include a wooden church, residential buildings, utility structures, workshops, greenhouses, and an orchard. Here they help women to get through a difficult period in life but and learn anew how to trust people, work, find joy in ordinary things, and make plans for the future.
