Kupala Theater to open new season on 1 September
The Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater will open the 107th season with the Paulinka production on 1 September, the theater’s Director General Aleksandr Shestakov. Six premiere productions are planned for the new season, with at least four of them to be shown before the end of 2026. The theater is also planning to take part in the 30th International Theater Festival White Tower which will be running in Brest from 10 to 19 September. A major creative undertaking is the project Kupala. Laboratory timed to coincide with the opening of the 107th season. Over the course of a week, the theater’s actors, together with three Russian directors, will create three draft versions of performances. The final works will be presented to the audience on 30 August, who will then be able to choose their favorite draft for subsequent inclusion in the theater’s repertoire.
