India. Majestic Taj Mahal
The Taj Mahal, one of India’s main symbols, is located in the city of Agra and was built in the 17th century. This majestic architectural complex covers an area of about 17 hectares and includes a mausoleum, a mosque, four minarets, a guest house, the Taj Mahal garden and a gateway. The walls of the Taj Mahal are faced with a unique snow-white translucent marble. The special feature of this stone is that it changes shade depending on the lighting: pink at dawn, white during the day and silvery in the moonlight. The facades and interiors of the building are decorated with the finest inlay of 28 types of gems and semi-precious stones (malachite, turquoise, jasper, agate). The Taj Mahal is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
