Import‑substituting greenhouse complex under construction near Minsk

A modern energy‑efficient greenhouse complex is being built in Minsk District on the instructions of the head of state as part of the Zhdanovichi agricultural combine. The facility comprises one hectare of seedling space and six hectares of growing greenhouses, where tomatoes will reach full maturity. The uniqueness of the complex lies primarily in its technological parameters. The greenhouse is fully automated and belongs to the 4+ generation. The project provides for the introduction of state‑of‑the‑art automatic irrigation, shading, ventilation, and carbon dioxide supply systems to ensure maximum plant growth efficiency. At present, nearly all of its energy supply systems have been commissioned. Seedlings have already been grown and transplanted for further cultivation on two of the six hectares. The complex is scheduled to reach full capacity in October. Specialists from relevant fields are involved in the construction of a facility of this scale, along with a combined student team of 18 people, including representatives of Belarusian National Technical University, Minsk Radio Engineering College, and Volozhin Agricultural College.
