The 116th guards assault aviation base in Lida is one of the oldest military units in Belarus. The unit’s pilots regularly perform a range of specialized missions unique to attack aviation. Aircraft technicians are just as integral to the base as the pilots themselves — their main task is the repair and maintenance of thousands of aircraft components and systems. The Lida airbase is more than just a military unit; it is a full-fledged pilot training school, where both first-year cadets and seasoned aces can be found at the controls.
